Terms of Service

Last updated: June 6, 2026

These are the Terms of Service for StoryHatch, the video-generation service operated at app.storyhatch.app ("StoryHatch," "we," "us," or "our"). StoryHatch turns top public Reddit threads into short-form videos: it pulls a thread, writes a narration script, generates a voiceover (using ElevenLabs, with an optional clone of your own voice, or a fallback voice), adds word-by-word captions and gameplay background footage, renders the video, and can publish it to a YouTube channel you connect. By creating an account, purchasing credits, or otherwise using StoryHatch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Please read the sections on credits, refunds, no-guarantee-of-results, and acceptable use carefully — they directly affect your rights and what you can expect. These Terms reference our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we handle it. StoryHatch is the party you are contracting with.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StoryHatch, creating an account, or purchasing credits, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and StoryHatch.

If you use StoryHatch on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use StoryHatch.

2. Description of the Service

StoryHatch is a tool that helps you produce short-form videos from publicly available Reddit threads. Each generation request typically produces three (3) videos. The service is provided on a best-effort basis, and the exact features, models, vendors, subreddits covered, and output may change over time as we improve or maintain the product.

StoryHatch is a new product and is still actively being developed. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may experience downtime, errors, or interruptions. In summary, StoryHatch:

  • Selects top public posts from a rotating set of subreddits and writes a narration script from the post.
  • Generates a voiceover using a third-party text-to-speech provider (ElevenLabs), with an optional clone of your own voice that you choose to create, or an automated fallback voice if the primary provider is unavailable.
  • Adds word-by-word captions and background gameplay/stock footage, then renders a finished vertical video (typically in around two minutes, though timing is not guaranteed).
  • Optionally publishes a finished video to a YouTube channel you connect via Google/YouTube OAuth, at your direction.
  • Tracks usage through a credit balance, where one credit corresponds to one finished video.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

To use most features you must create an account with a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or old enough to form a binding contract and to hold accounts on the third-party platforms you connect (such as YouTube, Reddit, and TikTok), whichever is greater. You are responsible for ensuring your use of StoryHatch — and any content you generate or publish — complies with the rules of those platforms.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date. You may not share your account, create accounts through automated means, or use the service in a way that abuses signup limits, free-video limits, or rate limits.

4. Credits & Payment

StoryHatch uses a pay-per-video credit model. It is not a subscription. You buy credits in one-time purchases, and credits are spent as you generate videos.

One (1) credit equals one (1) finished video. Because a single generation request produces three videos by default, that request consumes three credits. Credits are charged up front when a video is created.

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you buy credits you are redirected to Stripe’s hosted checkout. Your card details are collected and processed entirely by Stripe — StoryHatch never receives, stores, or processes your full card information. We retain only a Stripe customer identifier so we can associate purchases with your account for future checkouts.

New accounts receive a small number of free credits on signup, and additional free or bonus credits may be granted through referrals, login-streak rewards, founding-customer bonuses, or a one-time free watermarked demo video. Free, promotional, and bonus credits have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, and may be modified or withdrawn at any time. Account owners designated by the operator may bypass credit charges for operational purposes.

Prices, credit-pack contents, and available packs may change at any time. The current packs and prices shown in the app at checkout control over any figures listed here. As of the current version, the packs are:

  • Hatchling — 30 credits for $9.00 USD (illustrative; see app for current pricing).
  • Skyward — 120 credits for $29.00 USD (illustrative; see app for current pricing).
  • Celestial — 450 credits for $99.00 USD (illustrative; see app for current pricing).
  • Credits are one-time purchases and, as of the current version, do not expire.
  • All prices are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise in the app, and exclude any taxes that may apply.

5. Refunds

Failed renders are automatically refunded in credits. If a video generation ends in an error, the credit charged for that video is automatically returned to your balance. This refund is in credits, not cash, and is applied once per failed video.

Apart from automatic credit refunds for failed renders, credit purchases are generally non-refundable — including for videos that generate successfully but that you are unhappy with, do not use, or that are rejected or removed by a third-party platform. Because StoryHatch incurs real third-party processing costs (such as voice synthesis and rendering) the moment a video is generated, a successful generation is treated as a delivered service.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection or other mandatory laws of your jurisdiction; if such laws give you a right to a refund or remedy these Terms would otherwise exclude, those laws prevail. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us at [email protected] and we will review your request in good faith and in accordance with applicable law.

6. No Guarantee of Results

This is important. StoryHatch is a tool for producing videos. It is not a guarantee of any outcome. We do not promise, guarantee, or imply that videos you create with StoryHatch will receive any particular number of views, will gain subscribers or followers, will go viral, will earn revenue, will be monetized, or will be accepted, approved, distributed, recommended, or kept online by YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, or any other platform.

Any references to “viral” content describe the source material — the Reddit threads StoryHatch draws from — and never the performance of videos you publish. We make no representation about how your videos will perform.

Platform performance and monetization depend on many factors outside our control, including platform algorithms, platform policies and their enforcement (including rules on AI-generated, automated, repetitive, or low-originality content), your own channel, audience, niche, posting consistency, and the quality and originality of what you publish. You acknowledge that you use StoryHatch with no expectation of any specific result, and that you alone bear the risk of how your content performs and whether it qualifies for monetization.

  • No guarantee of views, watch time, impressions, subscribers, or followers.
  • No guarantee of monetization, revenue, ad eligibility, or acceptance into any partner or creator-rewards program.
  • No guarantee that any video will go viral or reach any audience size.
  • No guarantee that any platform will accept, approve, distribute, recommend, retain, or refrain from removing or demonetizing your content.
  • No guarantee of uptime, availability, render speed, or the continued availability of any model, voice, vendor, or feature.

7. Acceptable Use

You are solely responsible for the content you generate, edit, and publish using StoryHatch, and for how and where you publish it. StoryHatch generates videos from prompts and public Reddit threads, but the decision to create, modify, download, and publish any video is yours.

You agree not to use StoryHatch to create, distribute, or publish content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harmful, or that violates the rules of any platform you publish to. You are responsible for complying with the terms and policies of YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, and any other third-party platform or service you use in connection with StoryHatch, including their rules on automated, AI-generated, reused, or low-originality content.

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, restrict, or remove content or accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or applicable law, or that expose us or others to legal risk.

  • No content that is illegal under applicable law, or that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
  • No content that infringes or misappropriates someone else’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights — including using a voice clone of a voice you do not have the right to clone.
  • No hateful, harassing, defamatory, threatening, or violent content; no sexual content involving minors; no content that exploits or endangers others.
  • No content that is fraudulent, deceptive, or impersonates a person or organization without authorization.
  • No use that violates the terms or policies of YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, ElevenLabs, Stripe, or any other connected service.
  • No attempts to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent the security, rate limits, abuse protections, or access controls of StoryHatch.
  • No misuse of free credits, demo videos, referral rewards, or signup/rate limits, including creating multiple accounts to evade limits.

8. Intellectual Property

As between you and StoryHatch, you own the finished videos you generate and the rights you have in the inputs you provide (such as a voice sample you upload for cloning), subject to your compliance with these Terms and the rights of any third parties. We do not claim ownership of your finished videos.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to the inputs you provide and to the content you publish. Source material drawn from Reddit, background gameplay or stock footage, music, and third-party voices may be subject to the rights of others and the terms of the platforms and providers they come from; you are responsible for using such material lawfully.

The StoryHatch platform itself — including the software, user interface, scoring and “viral intelligence” logic, pipelines, designs, and the StoryHatch name, logo, and other brand features — is owned by StoryHatch and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our name, logo, or brand without our prior written permission. We grant you only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use StoryHatch as intended under these Terms.

You grant us the limited rights necessary to operate the service — for example, to process your inputs through our pipeline and the third-party providers described in our Privacy Policy, to store and serve your generated videos, and to publish a video to a connected platform at your direction. We do not use your generated videos to publicly promote StoryHatch without your permission.

9. Third-Party Services

StoryHatch relies on, and integrates with, third-party services to function. Your use of those services through StoryHatch is also subject to their respective terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their actions, availability, pricing, decisions, or content policies.

Where you connect an account (for example, connecting a YouTube channel via OAuth), you authorize StoryHatch to act on your behalf as needed for the features you use, and you may disconnect that account at any time. Third-party providers may change, limit, or discontinue their services, which may affect StoryHatch features without notice.

  • Stripe — payment processing and checkout. Your card data is handled by Stripe under Stripe’s terms.
  • YouTube / Google — optional channel connection, video upload, and channel information, at your direction and subject to YouTube’s and Google’s terms.
  • Reddit — source threads are fetched from Reddit’s API, subject to Reddit’s terms.
  • ElevenLabs — voice synthesis and optional voice cloning, subject to ElevenLabs’ terms; a fallback text-to-speech voice may be used when ElevenLabs is unavailable.
  • Other providers used to deliver the service (for example, stock-footage and email-delivery providers, and optional integrations such as TikTok publishing) as described in our Privacy Policy, each subject to their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

StoryHatch is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that generated scripts, voices, captions, footage, or videos will be accurate, original, appropriate, or fit for any platform or purpose; or that defects will be corrected. AI-generated output can be inaccurate, repetitive, or unsuitable, and you are responsible for reviewing it before you publish.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryHatch and its owners, operators, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, views, subscribers, monetization, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) StoryHatch, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid StoryHatch for credits in the three (3) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) twenty U.S. dollars ($20).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StoryHatch and its owners, operators, and suppliers from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your use of StoryHatch; the content you generate, download, or publish; your violation of these Terms or any applicable law; your violation of the terms or policies of any third-party platform (including YouTube, Reddit, and TikTok); or your infringement of any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

13. Termination & Suspension

You may stop using StoryHatch at any time. You can delete individual finished videos and disconnect a connected YouTube channel from within the app. Note that, in the current version, in-progress videos cannot be deleted until they finish or fail, and certain account records may persist as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to StoryHatch, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the service.

If your account is terminated for your breach of these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund of any credits. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including payment obligations already incurred, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Material changes take effect as stated in the notice or, if no date is stated, when posted.

Your continued use of StoryHatch after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the service.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and StoryHatch agree that the state and federal courts located in South Carolina will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service, except where applicable mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.

16. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, or need to reach us about your account, a billing issue, or a dispute, contact us at [email protected]. The entity responsible for StoryHatch is StoryHatch, operating from the State of South Carolina, United States.
